Election flyers

The news article will be updated with any electronically supplied flyers from the candidates.

Dawn Hoskins

I have lived in Passfield with my family for nearly ten years.

We consider ourselves ‘locals’ as our thee children attend school / college here and both myself and my husband attained our degrees at Surrey University – his in Civil Engineering and mine in Law. We are often seen walking our dog in the vicinity and I am also the local Avon Lady!

This election is to fill the seat sadly left empty by the death of Barry Hope. My pledge is to continue his fight for competence, honesty, openness and accountability. I see this change as ESSENTIAL.

I would like to drag our Council into this century. We have a tremendous ‘talkback’ facility at www.liphook.co.uk. Lets get Councillors to answer our questions on-line; actively ENGAGE with the public; Get computer friendly; Get e-mail friendly and get parishioner friendly!

I would like more interaction between the shops / businesses in the parish. They need our support and it should be freely given in these difficult times.

The Station Road shops appear more rundown than ever since the pub was boarded up. The village centre seems to revolve around Sainsbury’s instead of the shops – I would like see an active attempt to revitalise this area.

We have a big problem with dog fouling on Millennium Green and other public open spaces. It is DANGEROUS and needs to be addressed straight away.

I am acutely aware of the difficulties faced by families in this area - lack of public transport - outdated or rundown amenities. It is unacceptable that we have to ferry children to neighbouring villages to skate or play sports.

I would like to see a ‘Schools Liaison’ set up so the younger generation can be involved today with decisions that will affect them tomorrow.

I would like to be a voice for the outlying hamlets such as Conford, Bramshott, Hewshott and Passfield who are often overlooked. For example, we have been waiting for a bus shelter since last year in Passfield / we often have to organise our own litter pick-ups / conduct our own pavement clearing and luxuries such as road sweepers completely pass us by! This is unacceptable.

In the last Parish Election, out of 6,000 + voters – just over 1,000 bothered to turn up. Parish Councillors are supposed to spend your hard earned cash on what they think you want – but if you don’t tell them – how will they know?

We have a fabulous village – lets have a fabulous Parish Council as well.

VOTE - Thursday 11th March – ALL DAY.
