Missing white and black cat, please help!
- Jemma (1st Apr 2014 - 21:32:35)

Our family cat Max has been missing since last week and we are desperate to know where he is.. He's been missing from around the Hunters Chase/ Tunbridge Cresent area..

He's a male black and white moggy, with a black and white face, his body is mainly white with black 'cow like' markings.. He is a medium sized cat.
He is also microchipped and also has been neutered.

He's been missing since another male cat in the area has been hounding the neighbours cat who is in heat and has not returned home. We are growing increasingly worried about him so if anyone knows of his whereabouts please call Jemma on 07766827409

I hope you find him soon, I know how worrying it is.

Hi a young looking white and black male has appeared stalking the dith and banks outside our house and was in the garden this morning.
It appears to have a white face with four white legs a black tail and very much cow like markings along it's body. It is rather timid and keeps a safe distance. I live Burgh Hill road Bramshott.
Hope it is yours and you can be reunited.
Heather

With this sad story plus the fact that our cat was badly attacked by another cat this week (the vet said it is the most viscious cat attack he had seen), it makes me wonder if there are some rogue cats in the area. I can only assume it was a wandering tom cat and encourage owners to make sure their cats are neutered.

We live in Bramshott and although we did not see the attack, two cats, a large tabby and white and a large ginger and white have been seen in the garden. We are a bit at a loss about what to do as we can't keep our cat inside or the other cats out of the garden out indefinately!

Thankyou to everyone who has called myself in regards to Max.. Looks like he's stalking the lanes around Bramshott!
Myself and my brother will have a look around there during this evening and the weekend.. It does sound like him from the descriptions! I'm hoping so and happy as he's still around! Will keep you all posted if we manage to find him.
Thankyou again Heather and the other callers! It's nice to know there are friendly helpful people in the area we live

Jemma
I have just reread this - I hope you didn't think I thought it was your cat that attacked ours - my suggestion was that there might be a rogue tomcat that frightened him off and also went for our cat. We have not seen a black and white cat but will of course look out for him. In previous posts on this website, cats that have been scared off normally return in a few days.

Jemma I posted on here last week as our tabby & white cat went missing. We had all but given up hope and then bingo having been away 6 nights there he was outside the back door! He was a bit thin but otherwise well. Don't give up hope as your cat sounds like he's just gone for a walk about! I hope you get reunited soon!

Hello everyone! Great news! We found him! It did turn out he was in Bramshott!
I'm glad your Tabby returned to you Nicky!
Everyone is home at last!
Liz I hope your cat is okay, what sounds terrible!.. Of course I didn't think it was yours who scared mine... We have a slight problem with another cat in our area coming and spraying in the house which must of scared Max.. However he is home again now and we are happy again!
Thank you again to everyone that helped!

So glad your cat is home! .....I didn't think that you might think my cat had scared yours or vice versa (oh dear the curse of email!).

My cat is doing fine thanks - will have to wear a baby's vest to stop him chewing his stitches when they start to irritate - so only his pride likely to be damaged longer term!

Jemma, regarding your problem with another cat coming in your house. If this is via your catflap, it is possible to buy a catflap wihich can be programmed to your cats microchip so it only opens for your own cats

I purchased one of the microchip cat flaps last year and it's the best thing ever. We were constantly being visited by a neighbouring cat, eating all of my cats food or coming in to fight. Now my 2 cats live in peace knowing that they are safe once inside the house, and my cat food bill as dramatically reduced. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Anne and DML,

Interested to see your comments on the michrochip cat flaps.

Had thought about one of these but was concerned about microchips moving and not being recognised by the cat flap - cat stranded outside possibly with neighbourhood bully in hot pursuit. I know that even vets have difficulty locating a mircrochip on occasions.

Presumably you haven't encountered any such problems?

Re: Missing white and black cat, please help!
- Anne (11th Apr 2014 - 08:03:43)

Hi Jay

No, never had any such problem with moving microchip. All you have to do once you install the cat flap is press a button to activate the device, encourage, or gently, forcefully !!! get you cat to go through it once then the micro chip is read and that it, it's free to come and go at it's leisure. It is really worth it's money. I'm now waiting for Sureflap, who makes them, to bring out the microchip feeding bowls that way my greedy cat can't eat his tiny sisters food. I'm led to believe these will be available later this year.

- DML (12th Apr 2014 - 01:52:48)

They do occasionally move Jay but very rarely, most of them embed in the tissue very firmly and stay there permanently - I've worked in vet practices for years and only come across a handful that haven't been scannable because the chip wasn't where it's supposed to be - it's very unusual for them to move. The chip activated bowls were reviewed in this months veterinary journals and have a very good press - a bright idea by someone!

I too have a Microchip Cat Flap. I think they\'re about £80, but worth every single penny.

Total peace of mind, whilst allowing the boy\'s freedom.

The Cats Protection League in Hammer sells them, if anyone fancies supporting a good cause.
