Personal Assistant / Carer required

We are looking for a kind and caring personal assistant for a local gentleman in his 30’s who lives at home with his family.

He has cerebral palsy affecting all four limbs, epilepsy and profound learning difficulties.
He is non-verbal and can be quite shy, however, with the right support his personality shines through.
He has a very supportive family and currently has 3 PA’s who between them all support him 24 hours a day.

We are looking for an additional part-time team member.
They will need to be unfazed by his complex health needs and to learn how to support him on a one to one basis once they are trained and feel confident to ensure he remains safe.
All aspects of personal and medical care are required. This includes his PEG feeding regime as well as administering medication, also via his PEG.
Training will be given for his respiratory needs as well as how to support is mobility needs.
You will be required to get to know him, his family and his team of PA’s whom have become a huge part of his family’s lives.
There will be shadowing and team meetings to enable the team to work together for the same result and to make his life fun too.
Full mandatory and specialised training will be provided.
Driving the client’s vehicle will be required.

20 hours per week, including every other weekend. The role is paid £12.86. There will also be the opportunity for overtime as and when required.

About you:

Ideal qualities: Car driver in order for me to access the community. Preferably holding a full, clean, UK driving license. Non smoker. Clear English spoken.

5.6 weeks holiday is awarded per year as standard (pro rate for part time positions).

Employees are also able to join the Company Pension Scheme after 3 months service, subject to the rules of the scheme as well as our ash Back Health Plan after completion of a successful probation period.
