- Dom Stevens (17th Jan 2010 - 11:34:34)

I have just been on the phone to Vodafone, Im on a business package and have told them im not happy.

There is a reported problem with the near by mast, I reported problems last Sunday with them and it still isnt fixed. They have said for anyone to call up and make sure that you you say your paying for a service that they are not providing!!

I am about to write a very very strongly worded email to BBC Watchdog and say that it was O2 now Vodafone, how can they treat people this way.

I have just got a new Iphone with them, thinking twice about keeping the contract.

I have been with Vodafone for years !! am not happy... people are trying to do business with me and what am i having to do?? Give them my home phone number just so we can talk...

not even friends can get in touch with me :-(

Ditto.

Re: vodafone
- neil (17th Jan 2010 - 18:13:18)

I run a .5M £ contract with VF and have tried to find out what the issue is, I do have service but not the best just hope it is not due to iphone release and network falling over like O2.

I will update what I find out

We're on Headley Road and also have no coverage. I've spoken to Vodafone several times over the past few days - they tell me that the engineer is 'aware', but give no information about what the problem is or when it might be resolved.

The site number is 5365, and the phone number from a landline for pay monthly is 08700 700191. Maybe someone else will have more luck than me in getting some useful information from them?

Reply from VF

"I've spoken to the network team, there is a known issue with one of the cell sites serving postcode GU30 7DG. It has been affected by water damage and some parts had to be ordered to fix the problem. Engineers are due to be at site today and worst case tomorrow so I would hope to see a resolution by Wednesday worst case.

The reference is 1972950."

Neil,

I spoke to Vodafone Business today, they can not give us a time on the fix, could be a couple of days or weeks.... They have ordered the new parts that are required for the fix.

My only thing to Vodafone is why dont they keep spares in a warehouse, even if they have to ship from the UK to the local engineers home or depot.

They have sent me a Vodafone Sure Signal, as I have 1 bar at most and then fades it might help with enough signal for us to recieve and send SMS and calls.

They are not charging me for this, I have to connect it to my Broadband then it BOOSTS the signal, though call them and ask for one. the other option is they loose our business

Might help

Re: vodafone
- neil (20th Jan 2010 - 09:53:59)

Thanks for your info, I have chased them up again and asked for them to confirm 100% this is not to do with iPhone release and two much data on the network which is where O2 have been failing.

I like the idea of the booster but would worry me a little on having a boosted signal in my house.

I have also expressed out displeasure and informed them O2 had the decency to offer compensation to the Village I will let you know there reply.

Re: vodafone
- Dom Stevens (20th Jan 2010 - 18:57:40)

Neil,

If they want they can sponsor the 2010 Liphook Carnival ?? The could advertise in the Guide as well. give out free sim cards etc.

I am having my Sure Signal Delivered tomorrow will let you know if it works, Even if i manage just to get a signal I dont mind.

I have an Iphone 3Gs 32gb currently only able to connect to my WIFI, other than that it doesnt connect to the network. Though Vodafone have been nice with my account and not charging me for the Sure Signal (which isnt bad) plus credited my account.

I have been with O2 recently and found them to be poor, their customer service wasnt as good as Vodafone Business Customer Service, I have an email address for an account manager whom is pleased to help.

Re: vodafone
- Dom Stevens (21st Jan 2010 - 11:31:07)

Neil, I have just installed my Sure Signal and am please to say I have FULL SIGNAL and FULL 3G Signal took a bit of thinkering but works,

if your after one, give them a call as your account is what i would called "Valuable" they should send you out the box Next day for free and not charge you for the box

Regards

Dom

Re: vodafone
- Nicola Tettmar (22nd Jan 2010 - 18:22:11)

We still have no Vodafone coverage here, but finally after being assured that there is excellent 2G coverage, that my SIM card is clearly out of date, that my iphone's settings are wrong etc etc, they agreed to credit my account with £50 to cover the cost of a Sure Signal box. Now installed and we have very good 3G reception.

Thank you, Neil and Dom, for the information that you posted here - it helped me to get a resolution.

Re: vodafone
- Dom Stevens (22nd Jan 2010 - 20:54:58)

Nicola,

I am glad to hear you have good signal, I am going to write a letter to Vodafone and ask if they fancy giving some money to the Liphook Carnival??

I must admit the customer service people I spoke to were very good, each time I spoke to someone they made every offort to help me...

I have such a good signal my next door neighbour has just decided to sign up with Vodafone :)

Re: vodafone
- Robert Douglas (26th Jan 2010 - 11:16:54)

Anyone any new news on this? It's getting increasingly frustrating.

Re: vodafone
- neil (26th Jan 2010 - 12:19:46)

Info I had yesterday I have pushed for more

I've spoken to the network CS team again this morning. One of our engineers tried to access the cell site on Friday but apparently couldn't get access. They are waiting on BT to attend site so we can get access, which is expected to be "sometime this week". I've been advised to call in again tomorrow to get an exact time for when this will be. Apologies, this therefore means the issue has still not been resolved.

Re: vodafone
- Graham Moreton (26th Jan 2010 - 15:56:36)

I spoke with Vodafone on Saturday & they have confimred that there are in fact two masts that support the Liphook area, one to the north & the other to the south and both are faulty, water damage to one and the other has a blown fuse. Parts are now with the engineers but as mentioned in an earlier post these can only be fitted once access had been arranged, apparently this could take up to a week! They would not supply me with a "Sure Signal" box, but have agreed to credit my account.

Regards

Graham

Re: vodafone

For the first time in weeks I now have an almost full signal on the Headley Road. Its looking like its been sorted? Hopefully.

Re: vodafone
- Carol (26th Jan 2010 - 17:18:23)

Am on the Haslemere Road and have only just seen these posts - have a really bad signal at the moment - lost signal completely yesterday and today very poor too.

Re: vodafone
- Lynda (27th Jan 2010 - 19:49:36)

I live off the Haslemere road and too have had problems with my vodaphone signal, on and off now since the snow.

Re: vodafone
- Dom Stevens (27th Jan 2010 - 22:28:19)

Guys,

I would phone up Vodafone and say that it is unacceptable for us to have no Signal for 2 weeks, infact you have the right to leave your contract as they are unable to provide the service promised.

If you phone Vodafone tell them ou would like to have a sure signal box, say that you have concidered going to anouther provider

Vodafone are normally very good but from what i have read they need to do some good things to help the people of liphook and the area... Last year O2 this year Vodafone....

I got a 3G box which 2 of my neighbours have also connected to, as one works for the M.O.D he was very pleased to get signal. If you do manage to get one, this might be an idea

Re: vodafone
- Graham (27th Jan 2010 - 23:20:58)

Now back to a full signal (but no 3g).

Re: vodafone
- Natalie (25th Dec 2013 - 16:33:32)

Hi,
I live in Haslemere and have been having the same problem for the last three days... So i don't think it is just Liphook!
